About Güera

Güera Los Angeles was founded in 2020, created out of a passion for health and wellness both internally and externally, physically and metaphysically.

Hannah is the founder of Güera, a Plant Medicine facilitator, Reiki practitioner, shadow worker, and advocate for alternative healing. She knew from an early age she was seeking others, like herself, who were searching for the answers and deeper truths about what is really happening behind the systems that control our modern lives.

She experienced depression, suicidal ideation, debilitating anxiety, and eating disorders throughout life, starting at age 12. After self-medicating with recreational drugs, she tried prescribed pharmaceuticals and experienced a long list of side effects with no real relief. At that point she realized plant medicine provided deep healing when paired with intention and inner work, whereas western medicine just masked the symptoms temporarily. The darkness Hannah experienced from a young age allowed her to become comfortable with the shadow side of herself and others. As a shadow worker, she is able to connect with those who are also in dark places or hold space for others to dive deep into the parts of themselves that they typically avoid, deny, or ignore— the subconscious darkness they may be unable to reach on their own.

Hannah was intuitively guided to Reiki, then to connecting with her ancestors, and ultimately to Plant Medicine. As Hannah became attuned to Reiki II, she realized she wanted approach healing herself and others in a way that is authentic to her and her culture. She began supporting her Reiki offering with custom herbal teas that incorporated plants her ancestors worked with, and calling her ancestors in for guidance and support.

Hannah was always passionate about plant medicine, she began advocating for medical cannabis legalization in Arkansas in 2011 before working in the cannabis industry in Colorado and then California. Once the industry was exploited by capitalism and less focused on healing, she left. After 11 years in corporate America, Hannah left her job to pursue her passion of spreading knowledge around reconnecting to a more natural way of being, using alternative healing modalities such as Reiki and facilitating Plant Medicine with the intention of educating, deprogramming, and helping others to experience the same deep healing she has experienced. Working mostly with cannabis, psilocybin, and cacao Hannah offers group ceremonies and 1:1 guidance.

She is particularly passionate about helping others to appreciate plants and practice gratitude for the healing and nourishment they provide. To be in awe that something could come from the earth naturally and provide our body, mind, and spirit with exactly what we need– even if what we need changes from day to day or person to person. Understanding that the plants and the earth hold wisdom inside them, beyond our comprehension. Using plants in a ceremonial way allows us to slow down, practice gratitude, form a connection with the plant, take time to be in awe of its power, and appreciate the earth for continuing to provide the conditions that allow us to have access to this resource. We are not entitled to these plants, having access to them is a blessing and should be treated as such.
